Kardashian was seen sitting in the front row of West's Paris Fashion Week runway show in head-to-toe designs from his Dw by Kanye collection. The 31-year-old reality star, cozying up to Jay-Z, Diddy, Rosario Dawson and Alicia Keys, was wearing Kanye's cream-coloured suede leather leggings, oversized fur vest and sporting wild Giuseppe Zanotti/ shoes designed by Kanye.
“J’adore my shoes tonight,” Kardashian tweeted along with a photo of her attention-grabbing footwear. Wonder what she got for her payday?
We have been seeing these cream stilettos made of calf leather and hand-embroidered pearls all over the fashion pages this week, as these "fly shoes" are finally on sale at Colette in Paris for the price of $5885.00. Are they worth the price if you can afford them?
According to Fashionista, the shoes have become the Achille's heel to Kanye's runway models. British beauty Jourdan Dunn was not shy about tweeting her opinion of the 6-inch heels: “The shoes are crazy high! So my legs look crazy right now!” She followed that with: “Don’t get me wrong the shoes are sexy as fuck but you can’t walk in them!”
And then, “Or maybe its not the shoes……..it's me………. *shurgs*"
Jourdan then took cover by hiding behind the tweet of fellow model Leomie Anderson, who wrote: "@missjourdandunn omg the model who fit for his clothes said the shoes were so bad and he was cussin her.”
Rumors circulated about the fit when the shoes first came out on Kanye's October 2011 runway show and it was one of the most bitched about aspects of the collection. When your shoes are $6,000 a pair and even the models are complaining about them, it's a no-brainer that they're not going to be a hit.
Established shoe designers like Louboutin, Blahnik and Zanotti have more affordable options and a better fit, and West's price tag seems as inflated as his ego. Nothing like a painful pair of shoes with extra hair scrunchies around the ankles to make me want to spend my money. I wonder when the knock offs are going to hit eBay?
