PERSONALLY, I NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY FASHION DESIGNER RAMI KASHOU got the boot early on Project Runway Al-Stars. There just seemed to be something odd about that whole scenario as I thought Austin Scarlett or Kara should have been bid adieu before him.
Fans of the show could not figure out why Kashou, runner up to Christian Siriano in season four, was let go so early.
Was it because he was needed to continue working on his new bridal collection for the clubwear chain Bebe? Last week Bebe "wedding marched" their ten new gowns into the fashion world complete with lounge wear accessories all designed by Project Runway's own Rami Kashou. The line even has those ridiculous fascinators that really fascinate no one unless you wear it right, which is seldom seen in the hat world these days.
What caught my eye was a wedding dress designed by the son of former Miss Jordan that screamed "The Royal Wedding" except for the three-quarters sleeves. The "Princess Wedding Dress" is a clear knock off of royal wedding designer Sarah Burton's dress for the house of the late Alexander McQueen. Prices are not cheap and range from $950-$2,500, but if you were a fan of the "draping king" Rami Kashou I guess it's worth it.
Do we really want yet a copy of the wedding dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge? Where's Pippa's bridesmaid dress with all those buttons down the back? Now that dress was a scene stealer if you have the body to wear such a creation.
I am nothing but thrilled that such a talented designer like Kashou got this great gig but I have one peeve: Those velour track suits that are monogrammed with rhinestones across the butt with “Bride' and “Bridesmaids” kill me. When does the velour track suit and writing stuff across your ass finally go away? Look what happened to Kim Kadashian when she wore a personalized bikini bottom with "Mrs. Humphries" emblazoned on it. Just sayin'!
