KIM KARDASHIAN'S GOT A 5-YEAR-PLAN: TO RUN FOR MAYOR OF 'Armenian town', aka Glendale, California.
Kardashian announces her political ambitions as she's driving through Dallas on an unaired clip of Khole & Lamar.
Maybe it was the Ross Perot Museum they passed that prompted her to announce her future campaign, for which she already has a manager.
"I decided I'm going to run for the mayor of Glendale," Kim announces. "It's going to be in, like, five years. So I have to buy a house. Noelle and I are looking into all the requirements."
Kardashian figures that because her family is of Armenian descent she will be the logical pick as Glendale is the largest Armenian community outside of Armenia itself. Actually, in reality, Kim cannot just snap her fingers and run for mayor as it is not an elected position.
"No. 1, you don't run for mayor in the city of Glendale," Tom Lorenz said. "It is not an elected position in the city. The elected positions are five City Council people, a city clerk and treasurer."
Lorenz added that the city does have a sitting mayor, but similar to other cities, Glendale's mayorship rotates based on the majority vote of the council.
“Does the position give you any more power or authority?” Lorenz said of the mayorship. “The answer is no.”
A new mayor is appointed every year and the elections are held in odd years. So based on Kim's timeline her opportunity might come somewhere in the year 2017.
Maybe the reality star should decide to run for council and see what it's really like to work really for a living. Already, two councilmembers have said they'd be willing to back her. "I think she would make an excellent mayor," Glendale City Councilman Rafi Manoukian told E! New. No doubt she could use her porn video to win over reluctant voters.
Running for office would be a new trick for her to win publicity. Of course, the most running Kim does right now is running form man to man.
